Enhanced Field Mapping Support for HubSpot Sales Order Integration
We have enhanced the HubSpot Sales Order integration to allow for more flexible field mapping. You can now map Sales Order fields using either HubSpot object fields or manually entered static values, providing greater control over how data is populated in Maxio even when a corresponding HubSpot property does not exist. (Released: 18 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
This update aligns HubSpot mapping functionality with our Salesforce integration, reducing the need for manual workarounds. By supporting static values, administrators can ensure that required Maxio fields are accurately populated, improving data integrity and streamlining subscription and sales order workflows.
- Where to find it:
These mapping options are available within the HubSpot integration settings under the Sales Order field mapping configuration.
HubSpot Sync Step for Regular Customer Updates
We have introduced a new HubSpot Sync Step that allows for automatic synchronization of customer metadata changes from HubSpot to Maxio. This enhancement ensures that customer records, including billing addresses and tax exemption statuses, are kept up-to-date without the need to process a sales order or perform manual updates. (Released: 18 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, customer data in Maxio was only refreshed when a sales order was processed, which could lead to data discrepancies and manual overhead for ongoing account updates. This new functionality ensures data consistency across platforms and improves operational efficiency by automating the synchronization of both standard and custom customer fields.
- Where to find it:
This feature can be accessed from the integration settings panel in your Maxio account, where you can configure scheduled syncs or manually trigger a metadata refresh.
Fix unreadable custom CSS and JS text area Columns in PSP and OSP
We have resolved an issue where the textarea columns for custom CSS and JavaScript on Public Signup Pages (PSP) and Offer Signup Pages (OSP) were difficult to read. This update ensures that these fields are now fully readable and functional, allowing administrators to easily review and edit their custom styling and scripts. (Released: 8 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, layout and contrast issues made it nearly impossible for users to clearly see the code they were entering or editing in these fields. This fix improves the administrative experience by ensuring that custom code is displayed clearly, reducing confusion and potential errors during page customization.
- Where to find it:
These improvements are visible within the configuration settings for Public Signup Pages (PSP) and Offer Signup Pages (OSP) in Maxio Advanced Billing.
Payments
Maxio Payments Disputes: Second Chargeback Notification and UI
We have introduced enhanced visibility and notifications for second chargebacks (pre-arbitrations) within Maxio Payments. Merchants can now clearly distinguish between a first dispute and a second dispute, ensuring they understand when a case is final and no further rebuttal is possible. This update includes a dedicated UI indicator for second chargebacks and automated email notifications to keep you informed of these final outcomes. (Released: 19 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Second chargebacks are automatically ruled in favor of the buyer according to card network rules, meaning merchants cannot defend them. Previously, it was difficult to distinguish these from initial disputes. This update provides clarity on dispute status, saves time by identifying cases where no action can be taken, and ensures you are immediately notified of these final decisions via email.
- Where to find it:
You can find these updates in the Disputes section of Maxio Payments. Second chargebacks will be visible within the Lost tab, and the dispute record will display a timeline of events including the initial dispute and the second chargeback date.
Maxio Payments Disputes: Second Chargeback Notification
We have introduced a new notification setting and email alert specifically for second chargebacks. This update ensures that merchants are immediately informed when a dispute is escalated to a second chargeback, which is automatically closed in the cardholder's favor per card network rules. (Released: 19 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Second chargebacks do not permit merchant rebuttals and are considered final. By receiving a dedicated notification, you can quickly identify these cases, understand why they were closed, and take appropriate internal actions, such as resolving the matter directly with your customer, without spending time attempting a defense that is not permitted at this stage.
- Where to find it:
You can configure these alerts within your notification settings in the Maxio Payments User Settings.
Maxio Payments Surcharging: Merchant Compliance Acknowledgment
To ensure compliance with card network rules and state laws, merchant admins are now required to review and accept a compliance acknowledgment before enabling or re-enabling surcharging. This update ensures that all merchants using the Maxio Payments Surcharge Solution have explicitly confirmed their understanding of their legal and card network obligations. (Released: 19 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Surcharging is subject to strict regulations, including requirements to only surcharge credit cards and provide clear disclosures to cardholders. By requiring this acknowledgment, Maxio helps merchants stay informed of their responsibilities, protecting both the merchant and the business from potential compliance issues.
- Where to find it:
This acknowledgment appears as a modal when you attempt to toggle on surcharging under Maxio Payments > Settings > Surcharging.
Interchange and Scheme Fee Estimator
We have introduced a new Interchange and Scheme Fee (IC & SF) estimator within your Maxio Payments surcharge settings. This tool provides a 3-month trailing average of your actual processing costs for specific card brands across different US states and territories. (Released: 19 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
To comply with regulations in certain jurisdictions, credit card surcharges cannot exceed the actual cost of acceptance. This estimator helps you make informed decisions when setting your surcharge rates by providing visibility into your average costs, ensuring you remain compliant while managing your processing expenses effectively.
- Where to find it:
You can view these estimates directly within your Surcharge Settings page.
Re-enable Temporarily Disabled Payment Profiles
Merchants and administrators can now re-enable payment profiles that were temporarily disabled for non-fraudulent reasons. This self-service capability allows you to quickly restore a customer's ability to pay after resolving underlying issues without needing to contact support. (Released: 19 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, re-enabling a payment profile required manual intervention from technical teams. This update empowers you to manage customer profiles directly, reducing delays in payment collection while maintaining protections for R29 ACH responses to protect your processing reputation.
- Where to find it:
You can manage these settings within the payment profile section of a customer's account. Look for the re-enable option on profiles that have been temporarily deactivated.
Human Security - PSP Merchant Script Accommodation
Merchants can now configure custom scripts, including CSS and JavaScript, on Public Signup Pages (PSP) and Offer Signup Pages (OSP), as well as success and receipt pages. This update ensures merchants can continue running marketing and monitoring scripts while maintaining compliance with PCI 4.0 security standards. (Released: 21 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
With the implementation of enhanced security monitoring, this feature allows you to maintain visibility into customer signup success and continue using essential tools like label translations or marketing analytics without compromising security.
- Where to find it:
These settings are available within the configuration options for Public Signup Pages (PSP) and Offer Signup Pages (OSP). To use them, navigate to the configuration settings for your signup page, locate the custom script section, enter your CSS or JavaScript, and provide the required justification for the script.
Billing Portal - Update Payment Method Outside of an Invoice
We are introducing a dedicated Payment access point within the Billing Portal header. This change allows customers to manage and update their payment profiles independently, without needing to navigate through specific invoices or subscription settings. (Released: 20 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, updating a payment method was often tied to the context of an invoice or hidden within subscription tabs. This update provides a more intuitive and direct way for users to manage their payment information at any time, ensuring billing details are always up to date with minimal effort.
- Where to find it:
The new "Payment" section is located in the header of the Billing Portal.
Surcharging: Merchant Admin Compliance Acknowledgment
To ensure compliance with card network rules and state laws, merchant admins are now required to review and accept a compliance acknowledgment before enabling or re-enabling surcharging. This update ensures that all merchants using the Maxio Surcharge Solution have explicitly confirmed their understanding of their legal and card network obligations. (Released: 22 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Surcharging is subject to strict regulations, including requirements to only surcharge credit cards (not debit or prepaid) and to provide clear disclosures to cardholders. By requiring this acknowledgment, Maxio helps merchants stay informed of their responsibilities, protecting both the merchant and the business from potential compliance issues.
- Where to find it:
This acknowledgment appears as a modal when you attempt to toggle on surcharging under Maxio Payments Settings Surcharging.
IC and Scheme Fee Estimator
We have introduced the IC & Scheme Fee Estimator to help merchants in the United States and Canada accurately estimate their Credit Card Interchange and Scheme Fees by card brand and region. This tool provides a three-month trailing average of fees, enabling you to set surcharge rates that align with the actual cost of acceptance and maintain compliance with local regulations. (Released: 20 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Many jurisdictions prohibit profiting from credit card surcharges, requiring rates to strictly match the actual cost of acceptance. This estimator provides the necessary data to adjust your surcharge strategies accurately without the complexity of real-time processing.
- Where to find it:
You can access these estimates within your Maxio Payments surcharge settings, where regional fee breakdowns are displayed for each supported card brand.
Enhanced Dispute Management: Second Chargeback Indicators and Notifications
We have enhanced dispute management in Maxio Payments by introducing clear indicators to distinguish between first and second chargebacks within the dashboard. Additionally, we have implemented an automated email notification system for second chargebacks to inform you when a dispute is closed in the cardholder's favor per card network rules. (Released: 19 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, the lack of distinction between first and second disputes could lead to confusion regarding which cases could be defended. These updates provide better visibility into dispute statuses and ensure you are promptly notified when a second dispute occurs, as these are typically final and do not permit merchant rebuttals.
- Where to find it:
Chargeback indicators are visible within the Maxio Payments dashboard. Automated notifications will be sent to the email address associated with your account when a second chargeback is filed.
Default Direct Debit Logic for Checkout Pages
We have updated the logic for direct debit forms on Public Signup Pages (PSP), Self-Service Portals (SSP), and Public Invoice Pages. The default direct debit form now automatically corresponds to your site’s primary currency settings, ensuring that customers are presented with the most relevant payment options—such as ACH for USD or SEPA for EUR—upon page load. (Released: 7 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, some pages could default to incorrect banking details (like IBAN for USD-only sites), leading to a confusing user experience. This update ensures that the payment interface is intuitive and aligned with your regional configuration, while also improving the layout by displaying the billing address block before billing information to facilitate accurate form updates.
- Where to find it:
These changes apply automatically to Public Signup Pages, Self-Service Portals, and Public Invoice Pages within Maxio Advanced Billing.
Surcharging is subject to strict regulations, including requirements to only surcharge credit cards and to provide clear disclosures to cardholders. By requiring this mandatory acknowledgment, Maxio helps you stay informed of your responsibilities, protecting your business from potential compliance issues and ensuring an audit trail of acceptance is maintained.
- Where to find it:
This acknowledgment appears as a modal when you attempt to toggle on surcharging under Maxio Payments Settings Surcharging.
Accounting
Intacct: Dimension Support on Transactions
We have introduced dimension control at the Transaction (TX) level for Sage Intacct users. This enhancement ensures that dimension data remains consistent across financial operations, aligning with General Ledger (GL) synchronization requirements and future revenue reporting needs. (Released: 18 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, dimensions were pulled onto invoice line items but were not editable, which could lead to inconsistencies during synchronization. By managing dimensions at the transaction level, you can ensure data integrity across your financial reporting and streamline the process for future revenue reporting enhancements.
- Where to find it:
Dimension fields are now available on the transaction create and edit screens. You can also view and export dimension columns directly from the transaction list view.
Enhanced Invoice Item Description Display
We have introduced a new configurable setting that allows you to display item-level descriptions alongside line item descriptions on your invoices. This update provides greater flexibility in how you present billed items, ensuring your customers receive clearer and more detailed information. (Released: 6 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, invoices only displayed line item descriptions, which sometimes omitted important context stored at the item level. This new opt-in feature improves transparency and customer understanding by allowing for more comprehensive descriptions without impacting existing invoice layouts unless manually enabled.
- Where to find it:
You can enable this feature in the invoice customization settings. Look for the "Display Item Descriptions" toggle to include item-level context on your generated invoices.
Persistence of Sort Preferences for Legacy List Views
We have updated Maxio Core to remember your selected sort column and direction on legacy list pages. This enhancement ensures that your preferred sorting is automatically applied when you return to a page, providing a more consistent and streamlined user experience. (Released: 11 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, legacy list views did not persist user-selected sorting preferences, requiring you to re-sort every time you revisited a page. This update saves time by maintaining your view preferences while also incorporating a robust validation mechanism to ensure all sort parameters remain secure and supported.
- Where to find it:
This functionality is automatically active on legacy list views within Maxio Core. Simply sort a list by your preferred column, and the setting will be remembered for your next visit.
Insights
Roll-Up Customers by Parent in Top Customers Report
We have enhanced the Top Customers Report to allow for rolling up customers by their parent entity. This update enables you to view consolidated performance metrics for customers grouped under a parent organization, providing a cleaner and more unified view of customer contributions across multiple resellers. (Released: 12 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, the Top Customers Report listed customers individually, which could lead to fragmented reporting for organizations operating through multiple resellers. This roll-up functionality streamlines executive and board-level reporting by aggregating revenue and other metrics into a single parent-level row, facilitating more informed decision-making.
- Where to find it:
To use this feature, navigate to the Top Customers Report and select the "Roll-up by Parent Customer" option from the report settings.
Developer Experience
Query Customers via External Customer Number in API
We have updated the Maxio API to support querying customer records using an external customer number. This enhancement allows API consumers to retrieve or filter customer data using identifiers from external systems, providing greater flexibility for integrations and reducing dependency on Maxio’s internal IDs. (Released: 8 May 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, interacting with the Maxio API required the use of internal, non-writable IDs. This update supports common integration patterns by allowing you to use your own existing customer identifiers as reference IDs, simplifying data management across platforms and improving operational efficiency for enterprise workflows.
- Where to find it:
This capability is available via the GET and LIST customer endpoints in the Maxio API. Please refer to the updated API documentation for implementation details on the new customer_number field.
